Şeyma Subaşı referred to courthouse after being detained upon return from America

New developments have occurred in the drug investigation conducted against famous figures. Among those for whom arrest warrants were issued within the scope of the investigation was Şeyma Subaşı, a well-known public figure. Subaşı, who was apprehended at Istanbul Airport yesterday upon her return to Turkey from America, was taken to Şişli Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital for a medical check-up under the escort of the gendarmerie after her initial processing was completed.

Following the medical checks, Subaşı was referred to the courthouse by the gendarmerie to have her statement taken. It was also learned that she was taken to the Council of Forensic Medicine yesterday evening to provide blood and hair samples. Within the scope of the investigation, Subaşı was brought to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan following the forensic procedures. Subaşı's interrogation by the prosecutor's office is expected to begin shortly.

On the other hand, within the same investigation file, the police procedures for numerous individuals previously detained, including businessman Baran Süzer and 2016 Miss Turkey winner Buse İskenderoğlu, had been completed. Following these procedures, the suspects were taken for medical check-ups and subsequently referred to the courthouse.

Dilara Ege Çevik, Buse İskenderoğlu, Tuğrulbey Aran, Zohaer Majhidi, Yılmaz Efe, Cengiz Can Atasoy, Resul Arslan, Burak Güngörmedi, Ömer Can Kılınç, Yasin Burak Becek, Cihan Güler, and Rabia Karaca, whose statements were taken by the prosecutor's office, were sent to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for their arrest. Şebnem İnan, Nilay Didem Kılavuz, Rabia Yaman, and Emrah Gençer were brought before the judgeship with a request for judicial control measures. Muhammed Zeki Gökay was released after his statement to the prosecutor.

The criminal judgeship of peace decided to arrest 12 people, including famous figures, and released 4 people under judicial control conditions. Developments regarding the investigation process are being closely followed by the public.
