SGK statement on 'arbitrary practice' allegations

In a post shared on the official X account of the Social Security Institution, it was stated, "The SGK is managed not through arbitrary practices, but within the framework of laws and other legislation.

In this regard, it is not possible for the SGK to take over real estate that has liens, encumbrances, or mortgages on it, as it 'lacks sales capability' due to legal requirements. This issue is implemented with great sensitivity in order to protect the public interest.

In order to clearly demonstrate that the SGK does not engage in any discrimination or arbitrary actions in its practices, we would like to state that to date, more than 1,200 real estate transfers have been carried out to the SGK from municipalities belonging to many different political parties, and none of these transfers have had any liens, encumbrances, or mortgages. Proposing the transfer of real estate with liens, encumbrances, and mortgages to the SGK stems either from a lack of information about the process or from an attempt by the proposer to deceive the public.

In either case, this approach is incompatible with the seriousness of the state. All municipalities are witnesses to how transparent a process is managed when they offer real estate that has sales capability and is free of liens, mortgages, and encumbrances. Instead of dragging the issue onto a political ground and creating controversy, the SGK has provided guidance on all matters to municipalities that truly wish to pay off their debts, and will continue to do so in the future," the statement read.
