Sharp reaction from İlhan Taşçı to RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin

A message posted by Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) President Ebubekir Şahin for the AKP congress has drawn backlash. One of those reactions came from RTÜK member İlhan Taşçı. 

Regarding the AKP congress held in Ankara yesterday, Şahin shared the following message: "I wish for the 8th Ordinary Grand Congress of the AK Party to bring goodness to our country and our nation. On behalf of our nation, I extend my thanks to everyone who contributed to this important process, which will add strength to democracy and national will in the Century of Turkey, with 'AK' in its name and the future in its light. I congratulate the MKYK and MYK members and Deputy Chairmen elected under the leadership of our President Mr. Erdoğan, and I wish them great success in their sacred duty on the path of serving the nation."

Quoting Şahin's message, Taşçı stated the following:

"Mr. Ebubekir, I will not even mention that under Article 133 of the Constitution, RTÜK members are an autonomous and impartial public legal entity elected by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, as it has no value in your eyes anyway. We expect you to share the same excitement and enthusiasm for the congresses/conventions of all parties in our country, from the smallest ones to the CHP, which is a candidate for power, as they struggle for human rights, freedom of the press, the rule of law, and the strengthening of democracy. Ultimately, RTÜK members are required to be at an equal distance from all political parties, just as they should be from all television stations. At the very least, the laws and the constitution mandate this. Since you shared in the pride for the AKP congress, other parties should not be deprived of your support and joy either!"
