Sharp reaction to MPs preparing to join AKP: 'We leave them to the conscience of our nation'

The AKP will transfer 3 members of parliament from the CHP, Gelecek Party, and DEVA Party today.

İsa Mesih Şahin, who resigned from the Gelecek Party, Hasan Ufuk Çakır, who left the CHP, and İrfan Karatutlu, who resigned from the DEVA Party, will officially join the AKP today. AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pin the badges on the 3 individuals.

DEVA Party Deputy Chairman Mehmet Emin Ekmen lashed out at the names joining the AKP at the opening of the New Path Group Meeting.

While stating, "Today, we continue to walk toward the goals we dream of for our nation and our state with more determination, faith, and self-confidence than ever before," Ekmen also criticized the resignations. 

Ekmen said the following: 

"Of course, there is much that could be said for those who are tired, those who have given up, and those who think only of themselves, but as we have done until today, we leave those who leave and those who open their arms to them alone with their own contradictions and entrust them to the conscience of our nation. As our late teacher Erbakan said, just as one flower does not make a spring, a plane tree does not shake and a root does not wither because one leaf falls. We will walk our path with faith and determination. Our heads are held high, because we are not the ones who should be ashamed. Our hearts are as strong as our wrists."
