Ship traffic in the Dardanelles suspended in both directions
Ship traffic in the Dardanelles has been suspended in both directions. It was reported that local ferry services are continuing.
Fog, which intensified towards the early morning hours in the Dardanelles, negatively affected visibility at sea.
The Dardanelles Vessel Traffic Services Directorate announced via radio broadcast to the captains of ships navigating from the north and south that the strait has been closed to two-way transit ship traffic.
It was stated that ship traffic will return to normal once the fog dissipates.
Local ferry services in the strait are continuing.
