Ship traffic suspended in the Dardanelles
Transit ship traffic in the Dardanelles has been temporarily suspended in both directions due to dense fog.
The Dardanelles has been closed to transit ship traffic due to fog.
The fog, which intensified in the early hours of the morning off the coast of the strait, caused visibility at sea to drop.
The Dardanelles Vessel Traffic Services Directorate announced to the captains of ships sailing from the north and south via radio broadcast that the strait was closed to two-way transit ship traffic as of 07:50.
It was stated that ship traffic would return to normal once the fog loses its effect.
