Shocking allegation at a school in Beylikdüzü: Student allegedly assaulted

In the Beylikdüzü district of Istanbul, it is alleged that a teacher at İbrahim Feridun Tınaztepe Primary School assaulted a student with an iron rod. The incident took place last Friday. Second-grade student Emirhan Sevin called his teacher over to show him a place in his book during class. However, it is claimed that for an unknown reason, the teacher assaulted the child with an iron rod he was holding.

Following the incident, the child's parent, Özlem Sevin, was called to the school. When she arrived, she was informed about Emirhan's condition. Sevin took her child from the school to the hospital and obtained a medical report for the assault. She then went to the police station and filed a complaint.

"HOW CAN I ENTRUST MY CHILD'S LIFE TO THEM?"

Mother Özlem Sevin described what happened as follows:

“The teacher told me, ‘Emirhan is crying, I want you to come to the school. I touched Emirhan’s arm with a rod.’ As I was climbing the school stairs, I saw the teacher; he had an iron rod in his hand. I asked for Emirhan, and he said, ‘He is in the administrative section.’ In the administrative office, teachers were trying to calm Emirhan down. I approached my son, and he showed me his arm. I asked, ‘Does anywhere else hurt?’ and he said, ‘Mom, my head hurts.’ His hair had covered the wound on his forehead. When I lifted his hair, there was swelling and edema.”

Sevin also shared the forensic report they received from the hospital:

“There is a wound on his arm, as if he was struck with a whip. It is burned and swollen, which is also noted in the report. After the procedure was finished, we went to the child protection bureau and filed our complaint.”

Stating that the teacher claimed he did it by accident, mother Sevin said, “If he did it by accident, if he hit my son, shouldn't he have been by my side? It was a mistake he made; he hit my child. If the blow to his head had been a little more severe, the outcome could have been worse. We are at the hospital today. He has to go to school tomorrow. How will that teacher be there? How can I entrust my child's life to them?”
