Shocking claim about the union official who targeted Cemil Tugay!

Following the deadlock in collective bargaining negotiations between the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and the DİSK-affiliated Genel-İş Union, 23,000 workers affiliated with the union decided to go on strike.

On the evening of the 4th day of the strike, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay went out into the streets with crews to collect the trash that had accumulated in the city.

Ercan Gül, the İzmir No. 2 Branch President of the DİSK-affiliated Genel-İş union, tried to stop Cemil Tugay, saying, "We are protecting our bread here." Receiving support from citizens and business owners, Tugay continued to collect the trash.

On the fifth day of the strike, Ercan Gül targeted CHP Mayor Cemil Tugay in a speech to the workers, stating, "God is my witness, he is doing a good job cleaning. If I see trash, I will call and say, 'Mr. Mayor, come and clean it up.'"

Following these remarks, which became a subject of debate on social media, a surprising claim was made regarding DİSK member Ercan Gül.

58 OF HIS RELATIVES ARE REPORTEDLY WORKING AT THE MUNICIPALITY

According to a report by Gamze İşler from OdaTv, it was learned that union branch president Ercan Gül currently has 58 relatives working in municipal subsidiaries, including his wife, and that all of these individuals are on strike.

While it was learned that Ercan Gül's wife, D. Gül, is an office staff member, it was also among the allegations that his other relatives are primary school and open-education high school graduates.
