SİBERAY issues warning on protection against malware
The Cyber Crimes Combat Department of the General Directorate of Security (SİBERAY) has warned citizens to protect themselves against malware.
In a post shared on the social media account of SİBERAY, which was launched by the Cyber Crimes Combat Department to provide guidance on safe internet usage, citizens were warned to avoid using software from unknown sources.
The post listed the following basic security measures to protect against malware:
"Prefer licensed anti-virus and firewall applications.
Do not download applications from unknown sources to your devices; use online virtual marketplaces.
Perform virus scans at regular intervals.
Be more cautious when granting access permissions such as contact lists, cameras, and similar features, and disable access for these applications when they are not in use."
