'Sibergöz-21' operation in Samsun: 25 suspects brought to courthouse
In the scope of the "Sibergöz-21" operation in Samsun, 25 suspects have been referred to the courthouse.
The General Directorate of Security's Department of Combating Cyber Crimes coordinated the operation carried out by the Samsun Police Department's Cyber Crimes Branch, targeting illegal betting and the laundering of assets derived from crime. The processing of the 25 individuals detained in Samsun has been completed.
The 25 suspects were referred to the courthouse under heavy security measures.
It was reported that the processing of 6 other suspects at the police station is ongoing.
Within the scope of the Sibergöz-21 operation, 66 people were detained in Samsun; 7 of the suspects were released upon the prosecutor's instruction, 15 were arrested by the court, and 13 were released under judicial control conditions.
156 SUSPECTS CAPTURED
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced on his social media account on January 30 that 156 suspects were captured in the "Sibergöz-21" operation, which was carried out simultaneously in 25 provinces centered in Samsun, Adana, and Uşak, targeting offenses including opposition to the Law on the Regulation of Betting and Games of Chance in Football and Other Sports Competitions (Law No. 7258), laundering of assets derived from crime, money laundering, and qualified fraud.
