Significant development in the 30 million dollar parking lot robbery: New details uncovered

The number of people detained in the investigation launched by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the alleged theft of 30 million dollars from two parked vehicles in the parking lot of a residential complex on Ekşi Nar Street in Şenlikköy Neighborhood on February 11 has risen to 11. The 11 suspects, who were apprehended and taken into custody by teams from the Public Security Branch Office's Burglary Bureau, were referred to the Bakırköy Courthouse after their procedures at the police station were completed.

Following their statements to the prosecutor, suspects K.K. for "establishing and managing an organization," "qualified theft," "attempted qualified theft," and "destroying, altering, or concealing criminal evidence"; R.S. for "being a member of an organization established to commit crimes," "qualified theft," and "attempted qualified theft"; E.K. for "being a member of an organization established to commit crimes" and "attempted qualified theft"; Ş.K. for "being a member of an organization established to commit crimes" and "qualified theft"; and E.K., M.G., B.B., R.K., and O.D. for "aiding an organization established to commit crimes" were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for their arrest. The prosecutor's office requested judicial control measures for suspects Ö.F.S. and E.Ç. Efforts to apprehend 6 other suspects related to the incident are ongoing.

NEW DETAILS UNCOVERED

On the other hand, new details were uncovered during searches conducted at the addresses of the suspects following the incident. While examining the security camera footage of the residential complex where suspect K.K. lived after he was taken into custody, teams discovered that the entry and exit footage belonging to the suspect had been deleted.

Five suspects, including residential complex managers and security guards, were detained on allegations of destroying evidence by deleting these records. It was learned that suspect K.K., in whose home 1 million 670 thousand 500 dollars and 20 thousand TL were found during a search, stated in his police testimony that he works in the textile industry and that he obtained the money partly from trade and partly from the sale of a house and his wife cashing in her gold. In the home of suspect Ş.K., 5 thousand 500 dollars, 3 thousand 200 TL, 860 narcotic pills, 1 blank-firing pistol, and 1 unlicensed pistol were seized.

It was learned that all of the suspects denied the accusations in their statements at the police station.
