Şile Highway in Istanbul closed to traffic due to snowfall
A section of the Şile Highway in Istanbul has been closed to traffic due to heavy snowfall. Long queues of vehicles formed near the Ömerli neighborhood, and some drivers faced difficult moments due to icy conditions. Drivers stranded on the highway warned others to avoid speeding and sudden braking.
Transportation on a section of the Şile Highway has come to a halt due to the heavy snowfall affecting Istanbul. Vehicles heading in the direction of Şile formed long queues near the Ömerli neighborhood. Many drivers, including those in an ambulance, struggled to maintain control of their vehicles, and the road was closed to traffic at the Ömerli location.

Some stranded drivers recorded these moments with their mobile phones. The footage shows a semi-truck sliding on the road due to icy conditions.
It was also captured on video that some of the stranded drivers warned other motorists attempting to navigate the icy road to avoid speeding and sudden braking.
