CHP Silivri District Chair Doruk Bulut, who was detained as part of an investigation conducted by the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Silivri Municipality, has been arrested.
The Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation into the Silivri Municipality regarding the crimes of 'establishing and managing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes', 'being a member of an organization', 'bribery', 'offering bribes', 'extortion', 'rigging tenders', 'influence peddling', and 'laundering assets derived from crime'.
In the investigation conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, CHP Silivri District Chair Doruk Bulut was detained at his home in recent days, and teams carried out search and seizure operations at the individual's address.
Following his statement at the prosecutor's office, the suspect Bulut was referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for 'arrest' on charges of 'being a member of an organization established for the purpose of committing crimes' and 'laundering assets derived from crime'.
Doruk Bulut was arrested by the duty Criminal Judgeship of Peace to which he was referred and sent to prison. The investigation conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the matter is ongoing.
