Sinan Akçıl explains why he did not perform a 100th-anniversary concert
Musician Sinan Akçıl announced that he did not hold a 100th-anniversary concert due to his 'sensitivity' regarding Palestine.
While the 100th anniversary of the Republic is being celebrated all across Turkey, a 'concert' statement came from famous musician Sinan Akçıl.
In a post shared on his social media account X, Akçıl stated, ''Due to the sensitivity we feel for Palestine, I am not holding a 100th-anniversary concert today.''
''WE WILL HOLD THEM WITH MORE ENTHUSIASM ONCE THE OPPRESSION RETURNS TO NORMAL''
Akçıl's statement is as follows:
''I am not holding a 100th-anniversary concert today. Due to the sensitivity we feel for Palestine. We spoke with the esteemed mayors of our Sultangazi, Kahramankazan, and Bağcılar districts; we will hold our 100th-anniversary concerts with even more enthusiasm once this oppression returns to normal, God willing.''
