Sinan Ateş and Ayhan Bora Kaplan files bring Soylu to mind: 'Everyone will spill the beans'

Gazete Pencere columnist Nuray Babacan wrote that developments within the judiciary and the police force have come to the agenda within the AKP, and that there is talk regarding former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu that everyone will eventually spill the beans.

Babacan used the following expressions in the relevant section of her column:

"In recent days, the factionalism and secret conflicts both within the state and the party have been striking. Especially the complicated affairs in the judiciary and the police have caused the question 'What is happening?' to be asked more frequently. They are trying to understand whether an operation is being conducted against the party or just against certain names within the party.

A remark made by former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu in recent days has been recalled in this complicated agenda. It is explained that Soylu's words, 'I served as Interior Minister for 7 years, the entire state passed before me,' mean, 'There is nothing I do not know. I possess all kinds of information about everyone.' Comments are being made that everyone will eventually spill the beans. There are also those who interpret all this activity as containing messages for the future of the AKP in the medium term and for the post-Erdoğan era.

CRITICISM OF THE PRESIDENTIAL SYSTEM

There are those who attribute the problems in the ruling party to poor governance and the successive mistakes made over the last decade. We had written that the problem is not just the economic crisis, but that the party's detachment from the public is the real issue. Some AKP members say that the real reason for the dissolution and erosion within the party is the misuse of the presidential system."
