Sinem Dedetaş's prosecutor's office testimony revealed: I said it was gossip

As part of the work coordinated by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Special Investigation Bureau, an investigation was launched into Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, Deputy Mayor F.D., Mayoral Advisor U.M., Private Secretary A.K., Kent A.Ş. General Manager Nazım A., and relevant unit managers and personnel following reports of irregularities in building permit and occupancy permit processes, victim statements, and accounts from suspects providing testimony under effective remorse provisions.

Arrest request for Dedetaş

Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, along with Private Secretary A.K., Architect B.Ç., and contractor B.O.T., were referred to the duty magistrate judge with a request for arrest, while Deputy Mayor C.Ü. and business facilitator A.A. were referred with a request for judicial control.

Prosecutor's office testimonies revealed

In her testimony at the prosecutor's office, Dedetaş stated, "I have no instruction or request for Nazım A. to demand financial gain for myself or the needs of the private secretary's office in exchange for issuing an occupancy permit. I do not accept the actions attributed to me. I have absolutely never given instructions or made statements to contractors involved in licensing and occupancy procedures at the municipality to collect money. The people I appointed to office are individuals with technical knowledge and expertise in this field. If an occupancy permit was issued in this manner, I have no knowledge of it as a mayor because I cannot master the technical details. Since I trust the experts I appointed to these positions, it is not possible for me as mayor to have information regarding technical matters."

It was determined that at an event attended by Dedetaş, she sat next to Nazım A. and the nameplate in front of him read "Deputy Mayor." Dedetaş acknowledged this situation with the words, "It was not malicious, but I accept it as an administrative error."

"I said the claims about demanding money from contractors were gossip"

Responding to the money traffic between contractors and the municipality, Dedetaş said, "Complaints between Sadık A., who is the president of the Üsküdar Municipality Sports Club, and Mustafa H. began to surface constantly. As I understood it, the ties between them were at the breaking point.

Mustafa H. told me that Sadık A., as the club president, had taken his wife along with the athletes to an away game in Trabzon, if I remember correctly, and how he bought a ticket for his wife.

Sadık A. also told me that he was uncomfortable with Mustafa H.'s approach toward the athletes. As I understood it, Ulaş M. was also taking Mustafa H.'s side. When Sadık A. requested that Mustafa H. not be given any duties, I said, 'I met both of you together.

I see you as a team; either continue working together or neither of you should perform your duties.' I approached Sadık A. in this manner by saying that the claims about Ulaş M. or Mustafa H. demanding money from contractors were just gossip," she stated.
