Snow holiday declared in 2 provinces
Schools in some districts and villages in Iğdır and Ağrı have been closed today, 18.12.2023, due to adverse weather conditions.
Iğdır's mountainous villages were hit by blizzards and snowfall today, which negatively affected daily life.
According to a statement from the Iğdır Governor's Office, education in primary and secondary schools in the villages of Alibeyköy, Mezra, Aliköçek, Zor (Karaçomak), Kervansaray, Pınarbaşı, Kızılkule, Taşlıca, and Gülpınar has been suspended for one day on Monday, December 18, 2023, due to adverse weather conditions.
In Ağrı, snowfall that intensified in the evening hours also negatively affected life in the districts.
A written statement from the Doğubayazıt District Directorate of National Education reported that village roads were closed due to heavy snowfall and blizzards. The statement indicated that education in village schools and for students using busing services in the district was suspended on Monday, December 18, 2023. The Diyadin District Governor's Office also announced that due to snowfall, education has been suspended for one day for students using busing services and in the villages of Hacıhalit, Mutlu, Sürmelikoç, Taşkesen, and Yukarıdalören.
