Snowfall in Istanbul causes traffic congestion
The snowfall that began in the morning hours in Istanbul has led to traffic congestion in some districts. While snow was effective in many areas on both the Anatolian and European sides, some roads became difficult to navigate. Traffic density across the city was measured at 78 percent according to the IMM CEP Traffic application.
Due to the snow that began in the early morning hours on the Anatolian side, some roads and green spaces in Ümraniye, Beykoz, Kartal, Pendik, and Üsküdar were covered in a white blanket.

On the European side, the snow, which was effective in Beylikdüzü, Esenyurt, and Büyükçekmece, covered roadsides and parked vehicles in white. In the Alkent 2000 neighborhood of Büyükçekmece, some vehicles struggled to climb hills due to the snow.
TRAFFIC CONGESTION DUE TO SNOW
The snowfall, which continues to affect the city, caused traffic congestion in the morning hours.

On the Anatolian side, traffic is moving slowly in both directions on the D-100 highway between the Kadıköy and Kartal locations. On the TEM Highway, there is traffic congestion between Ataşehir and Sancaktepe.

For transitions from the Anatolian side to the European side, traffic congestion in the direction of the 15 July Martyrs Bridge starts from the Uzunçayır junction, and in the direction of the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, it starts from Ataşehir and continues until the bridge entrances.
On the European side, vehicles are struggling to move on the D-100 highway in the Avcılar, Bakırköy, Zeytinburnu, Halıcıoğlu, and Çağlayan locations. Congestion is also observed on the TEM Highway in the Avcılar, Gaziosmanpaşa, and Kağıthane locations.
According to the IMM CEP Traffic application, traffic density in the megacity is on the European side
