Social media platform X is closing its headquarters

The New York Times newspaper obtained an email sent by X's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Linda Yaccarino to employees.

According to the email, Yaccarino announced that the San Francisco headquarters of X, formerly known as Twitter, will close in the coming weeks.

Stating that employees will move to existing offices in San Jose, Yaccarino also noted that an engineering-focused office will be opened in the Palo Alto area, which will be shared with Musk's artificial intelligence company, xAI.

In July, Elon Musk announced that he would move the headquarters of his companies, SpaceX and X, from California to Texas.

MUSK DECIDED TO MOVE AFTER THAT DECISION

Musk's decision came after California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a law prohibiting teachers in the state from sharing information about a child's gender orientation with their parents without the child's consent.

Explaining that this law, along with many previous ones, threatens both families and companies, Musk stated that he had previously warned Newsom that such laws would force families and companies wishing to protect their children to leave California.
