The SOL Party has filed a criminal complaint against Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin and Chief Advisor to the President Oktay Saral.
The SOL Party has filed a criminal complaint against several individuals and institutions. Among those named in the complaint are Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin and Chief Advisor to the President Oktay Saral, as well as social media accounts such as "Daily Islamist" and "Misvak Caps," and the publication Yeni Akit.
The following statements were included in the announcement made by the SOL Party regarding the matter:
"We are Filing a Criminal Complaint Against Attacks on Secularism
Due to our struggle for a secular and democratic Turkey, 6 of our friends were sentenced to house arrest, with the constitution effectively suspended.
In response to our call to defend secularism, they attempted to target the intellectuals, patriots, and revolutionaries of this country.
We are holding those who attack secularism and the democratic order, which are under constitutional protection, accountable.
We are noting this in history; all these attacks on secularism are attacks on the democratic order in Turkey, and we are filing a CRIMINAL COMPLAINT against those who commit this crime.
We have applied to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for an investigation to be conducted into all responsibilities regarding crimes committed against secularism.
No matter what you do; we will continue to fight for a secular, democratic, and free country;
We will continue to hold those who attack secularism and democracy accountable."
