Somali government approves extradition agreement with Turkey

It has been reported that the Somali cabinet has approved a justice agreement with Turkey that covers the "extradition of convicted criminals and suspects to both countries."

Somali Minister of Justice Hassan Moallin Mohamud stated in an announcement that the cabinet has approved the justice agreement between Turkey and Somalia.

Mohamud noted that the agreement allows for the extradition of convicted criminals and suspects to both countries.

SON OF SOMALI PRESIDENT HAD FLED TURKEY

Mohammed Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the son of the Somali President, struck a motorcycle courier at the Aksaray exit of the Eurasia Tunnel on November 30, and the courier, Yunus Emre Göçer, who was taken to the hospital, lost his life.

Following the accident, Mohammed Hassan Sheikh Mohamud fled Turkey.

Mohamud, who returned to Turkey days later, was first sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison for "causing death by negligence," which was later commuted to a judicial fine of 27 thousand 300 Turkish Lira.
