Some roads in Ankara closed to traffic due to CHP convention
Some roads in Ankara have been closed to traffic due to the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention.
The CHP 38th Ordinary Convention will be held on November 4-5. At the convention, which will begin at 10:00 AM at the Ankara Arena, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, CHP Group Chairman Özgür Özel, former Party Assembly member Örsan Kunter Öymen, and former deputy İlhan Cihaner will compete for the CHP chairmanship.
The Ankara Police Department announced that some roads in Ankara were closed to traffic as of last night due to the convention. The routes to be closed as part of security measures are as follows:
“Within the scope of security measures to be taken regarding the program to be held at the Ankara Arena on November 4-5, 2023, starting from 10:00 PM on November 3, 2023;
1- The section of Cumhuriyet Street between Gar Junction and Baruthane Junction will be closed in both directions,
2- All side variants connecting to Gar Junction and opening from Gar Junction (excluding the underpass),
3- The entire side variant connecting from Ulaştırma Junction to Gar Junction,
4- The entire side variant connecting from Gar Junction to Kazım Karabekir Street (excluding the overpass) will be closed to vehicle traffic.”
