Spacecraft put into sleep mode! Only one chance left for it to work
The solar-powered Slim successfully landed on the Moon on January 19. However, about three hours after landing, its battery dropped to 12 percent. The vehicle was put into sleep mode just before it was about to shut down.
Japan's spacecraft "Slim", which successfully landed on the Moon, has been put into sleep mode due to its solar-powered battery being insufficient.
About three hours after the landing, the vehicle reached the point of shutting down as the battery dropped to 12 percent. The root of the problem was that the vehicle was facing the wrong direction and therefore could not charge itself.
According to experts, if Slim does not freeze from the cold, it is thought that it could be taken out of sleep mode within two weeks once it receives sunlight. Slim, which achieved the success of making Japan one of the 5 countries capable of landing on the Moon, is expected to become operational again after this process.
