Sparked backlash on social media: Gökhan Çıra summoned to testify over 'post with child'

Following the backlash over a photo of a child identified as S.S.Ç. shared on social media, the Ministry of Family and Social Services applied to the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, requesting that an investigation be launched and that the child be temporarily placed in a state care facility.

An investigation was launched by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in line with this request.

Within the scope of the investigation, it was decided to take the statement of Gökhan Çıra for the crime of "violation of obligations arising from family law."

In the investigation, the report obtained regarding the victim child S.S.Ç. noted that the child should continue to be cared for by the individuals currently providing care at home.

While it was decided to request a counseling measure from the family court in a manner appropriate to the victim child's situation and development, it was also stated that a request for a temporary restraining order against Gökhan Çıra would be filed with the family court.
