Statement from the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses regarding Ayşe Barım
It was alleged that Ayşe Barım, who made headlines with claims of monopolization in the acting industry and was later arrested as part of the Gezi Park investigation, had been hospitalized and was not receiving treatment. In a statement regarding the matter, the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses (CTE) said, "The baseless and malicious reports in the public domain claiming that detainee Emine Ayşe Barım was 'hospitalized' and 'not receiving treatment' do not reflect the truth. The detainee's health status is being closely monitored by all relevant units, and necessary interventions are being carried out promptly."
The General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses (CTE) announced that Emine Ayşe Barım's health status has been regularly monitored both in the institution's infirmary and in the relevant outpatient clinics of hospitals since her initial admission examination, and that the necessary treatments have been provided in full.
A statement was issued by the CTE regarding the allegations in the press and on social media platforms concerning the health status of talent manager Barım, who is being held at Silivri Prison.
The statement noted that after a meeting on the evening of April 19, Barım stated that she did not feel well and wanted to rest. It was reported that although no negative findings were detected during the checks and blood pressure measurements, a transfer to the hospital was offered as a precaution, but the transfer could not be carried out as she declined the offer with a written statement.
The statement indicated that no negative developments were observed in Barım's health status during subsequent checks and intermittent blood pressure measurements, and the following was recorded:
"The detainee's health status has been regularly monitored both in the institution's infirmary and in the relevant outpatient clinics of hospitals since her initial admission examination, and the necessary treatments are being provided in full. Hospital transfers made in line with the evaluations of the institution's physician have been carried out in a planned manner. The baseless and malicious reports in the public domain claiming that detainee Emine Ayşe Barım was 'hospitalized' and 'not receiving treatment' do not reflect the truth. The detainee's health status is being closely monitored by all relevant units, and necessary interventions are being carried out promptly."
