Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently detained in Silivri, made a statement on his social media account regarding the agricultural frost disaster that has occurred.
Ülkemizin doğusundan batısına, kuzeyinden güneyine adeta tüm tarım bölgelerinde meydana gelen zirai don felaketi, başta meyve ve sebze olmak üzere, çok geniş ölçekteki ekili ve dikili alanlarda büyük zararlara neden oldu.

"ALL RESOURCES MUST BE MOBILIZED"
İmamoğlu's post is as follows:
"The agricultural frost disaster that has occurred in virtually all agricultural regions of our country, from east to west and north to south, has caused great damage to a wide range of cultivated and planted areas, primarily fruits and vegetables.
The fact that our farmers, who have already incurred all production costs, are left without income from their crops poses a major problem for producers and the continuity of production. Furthermore, at a time when our country, which possesses the fertile lands where agriculture first began in the world, is already among the top three in the world for food inflation due to years of misguided policies, this disaster will lead to a radical decline in production and further price increases. To minimize these losses and ensure the continuity of production, it is imperative that effective measures be implemented immediately.
In this context, damage assessment and payments for products under insurance coverage must be carried out without delay, and for products and producers not covered, the Ministry of Agriculture and all relevant ministries, as well as Ziraat Bank and Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, must mobilize all their resources.
My thoughts and heart are with our brothers and sisters in both rural and urban areas who are trying to hold onto life with their limited incomes.
Get well soon, my Turkey..."
