Statement from Fazıl Say on Yılmaz Güney

Fazıl Say made a post on his social media account following his debate with Farah Zeynep Abdullah regarding Yılmaz Güney. 

"BRAVO TURKEY, LET'S GIVE YOU ALL A STANDING OVATION"

In his post, Say said, "And one last thing, current... I am sad that I am so alone in defending Yılmaz Güney's art and his lasting legacy. If this is a debate, and whoever it benefited, let Farah Zeynep have won it. Bravo Turkey. Let's give you all a standing ovation!!!" 

"SHE HAS ALREADY DESTROYED THE RESPECT FOR HERSELF"

Pianist Fazıl Say had previously made a post on his social media account reacting to actress Farah Zeynep Abdullah's remarks about Yılmaz Güney. 

In his post, using two photos, Say had said, "A 'TV series actress' who lacks the quality to even be an extra in the film 'Yol' has now started to determine 'eras' and 'milestones'. One needs to know their place a little."

She should not try in vain to devalue the cultural history of this country; she is facing real art, which is something she does not know. I wish Farah Zeynep could have learned even a little bit about art; she has already destroyed the respect for herself by trying to crush great artists."

"INCONSISTENT FROM EVERY ANGLE, FOOLISH FROM EVERY ANGLE"

Farah Zeynep Abdullah responded to these statements by Fazıl Say via her social media account, saying the following:

"Brother, your post is inconsistent from every angle, foolish from every angle; you didn't understand, and it's clear you don't want to understand. Late last night, you wrote your phone number to me here, saying, 'Let's talk, I have a couple of words to say.' I was sleeping, so I wrote, 'I can call if you are available,' but you didn't get back to me. I wish we had talked. I would have said, 'Brother, my thoughts don't concern you at all,' and continued sleeping.

Brother, right after this post of yours, I saw your concert announcement in your story, and you forgot to include the link. So, I am sharing the ticket link."
