Statement from Hakan Fidan following the Security Summit in Ankara: 'According to possible scenarios'

Following the four-hour summit, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made the following statement:

Today, I met with our Minister of National Defense Mr. Yaşar Güler, our Chief of General Staff General Mr. Metin Gürak, our MIT Undersecretary Mr. İbrahim Kalın, and our other officials to evaluate the process that began with Israel's airstrike on Iran and its potential repercussions.

Our President has been closely following the developments from the very first moment and is being kept informed. In line with our President's instructions, our relevant institutions are taking all necessary measures according to possible scenarios that concern our country.

Since the beginning of these developments, we have been in close contact with many countries, including Iran, Iraq, Jordan, and the USA.

Israel, which has caused a humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, is dragging Lebanon into instability, is turning toward the occupation of Syria, and is today targeting Iran, must abandon its strategy aimed at destabilizing the region as soon as possible.

We must not allow the increasing tension in our region to divert attention away from the genocide taking place in Gaza. Advancing the process initiated by US President Mr. Trump regarding nuclear negotiations is the only method to resolve the conflict caused by the nuclear dispute.

Diplomacy is the only alternative to war.
