Statement from Gazelle, the second hotel owned by Halit Ergül! 'Temporarily...'

As part of the investigation into the fire disaster at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Bolu, which resulted in 78 deaths and 51 injuries, 9 out of 14 individuals detained—including hotel owner Halit Ergül and company general manager Emir Aras—have been arrested.

The Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office determined that similar instances of negligence were also present at Gazelle Resort and Spa Hotel, another business owned by Halit Ergül. In this context, 13 people, including the hotel's general manager Ahmet Demir, were detained. While some of the suspects were arrested, others were released under judicial control conditions.

During the investigation process, Bolu Deputy Mayor Sedat Gülener, Acting Fire Chief Kenan Coşkun, firefighter İrfan Acar, and Gazelle Resort and Spa Hotel Manager Ahmet Demir were also arrested during the night.

GAZELLE RESORT AND SPA HOTEL TEMPORARILY CLOSED

The management of Gazelle Resort and Spa Hotel issued a statement to inform the public, announcing that the hotel has been temporarily closed.

The statement included the following remarks:

“Due to misleading information circulating recently on social media and in the press, a decision has been made by the management to close Gazelle Resort & Spa for a temporary period. During this process, the hotel's operations have been suspended, and the aim is to provide accurate information to the public until the legal process is completed. While the hotel is closed, reservation cancellations, refunds, and other transactions will be carried out quickly to ensure that guests do not experience any grievances.”
