Sharing a video of a dialogue Kaya had with an audience member on his social media account and accusing the famous comedian of mocking religious values, Saral stated the following:
"I believe it would be beneficial for the competent authorities to remind this charlatan, foolish comedian that our religion and our prophets should not be mocked."
"DOES NOT INTEND TO MOCK"
Following the events, a statement came from the famous comedian. Stating that the video in question is from two years ago, Kaya said the following in his statement:
"I am following with sadness the debate on social media regarding a joke I made two years ago, in which I compared a guest who participated in Konuşanlar to Jesus. I would like to specifically state that the joke made and the expressions I used do not in any way carry the intention of mocking any belief or sacred value.
Respect for all beliefs, values, and opinions is the fundamental principle of myself, our team, and our program. I would like to express to the public that I will show the necessary care to ensure that a similar misunderstanding does not happen again and that we will evaluate our broadcast content more carefully in this direction, and I sincerely apologize for the discomfort caused by the incident in question."
