Statement from IMM on nurseries: Allegations are baseless!

Following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu in a dawn operation yesterday morning, allegations emerged that services at nurseries affiliated with the Şişli Municipality had been suspended. However, the IMM pointed out that these allegations are baseless and reported that activities at the nurseries are continuing without interruption.

Following the detentions, claims that nurseries affiliated with the Şişli Municipality had stopped services and that parents were asked to pick up their children were brought to the agenda on social media.

STATEMENT FROM IMM

In a statement made by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Child Services Branch Directorate regarding the matter, it was emphasized that the allegations do not reflect the truth. The official notification message sent to parents by the directorate included the following statements:
"The services at our Yuvamız İstanbul Child Activity Centers, which are provided to you, the esteemed residents of Istanbul, by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, will continue to be offered at the same standards and without interruption. Please do not give credence to claims to the contrary that are occasionally observed on social media and similar platforms."
