It has been announced that the water outage affecting 88 neighborhoods across 9 districts due to a fault in the energy system feeding the Kağıthane Drinking Water Treatment and Pumping Centers in Istanbul has been resolved.
The Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ) reported that as of 16:20 on October 14, water could not be supplied to certain neighborhoods in Gaziosmanpaşa, Sultangazi, Eyüpsultan, Bayrampaşa, Esenler, Kağıthane, Şişli, Beyoğlu, and Beşiktaş.
According to İSKİ's statement, the fault was repaired as of 10:00 on October 15, and water supply to subscribers has resumed. The institution announced that the system would return to full normal operation as of 13:00.
It was stated that subscribers in the affected areas were informed via SMS during the outage. The first message stated that the outage would last until 20:00 on October 14, while the second message, sent as the fault persisted, informed subscribers that water would not be available until 11:00 on October 15.
The statement noted that the fault was identified in the underground cables of the transmission lines feeding the facilities from the Alibeyköy switchyard. İSKİ reported that the responsibility for the line lies with BEDAŞ AŞ and that the work was carried out in coordination between İSKİ and BEDAŞ teams.
In its statement, İSKİ included the following: "The system will return to normal as of 13:00. We thank our subscribers for their patience and understanding regarding this temporary water outage caused by the incident."
