Statement from the Istanbul Medical Chamber on Ayşe Barım: Her condition is not suitable

The Istanbul Medical Chamber issued a statement regarding talent manager Ayşe Barım, who is going through difficult times due to health problems, stating that Barım's health condition is not suitable for remaining in prison.

Here is the statement made by the Istanbul Medical Chamber:

"The health condition of E. Ayşe Barım, who is detained in Marmara Prison, is not suitable for remaining in prison; she must be released as soon as possible;

Upon the request for a medical evaluation and opinion report by the lawyer of Emine Ayşe Barım, who has been detained in Marmara Prison since January 27, 2025, the Turkish Medical Association Central Council decided to form a scientific committee, and the report to be prepared will be shared with the public and authorities as soon as possible. However, due to the urgency of the matter, a brief preliminary assessment was deemed necessary.

In the latest medical board report issued by Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital on July 2, 2025, regarding Emine Ayşe Barım, it is reported that she was diagnosed with 'Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy' and that an ICD (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator) was recommended due to the risk of sudden death. In addition, it has been reported that Emine Ayşe Barım has serious cerebrovascular disease and fainting spells. We are of the opinion that, even if the patient had no other additional health problems, she should be released as soon as possible due to her heart condition, which carries a risk of sudden death."
