Statement from Mersin Governor's Office regarding sexual abuse allegations at a saz course
The Mersin Governor's Office announced that the suspect detained on allegations of sexual abuse at a saz course was arrested on April 22.
The Governor's Office issued a statement regarding the sexual abuse incident that occurred in the Tarsus district on April 20.
The statement noted the following:
"Regarding the incident that occurred in our Tarsus district on April 20, a complaint was filed by a child's mother at the Tarsus District Police Department's Benli Police Station against an individual named S.G., alleging that he committed sexual abuse against a child born in 2015 while giving a saz course.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Tarsus Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the suspect S.G. was arrested by the court on April 22.
The judicial investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The business selling musical instruments has been sealed due to conducting course activities outside the scope of its license."
