Some citizens brought the issue to the public agenda by sharing the 'mobilization order' messages they received on their mobile phones on their social media accounts.
A statement was made by the Ministry of National Defense (MSB) regarding the posts claiming that mobilization orders were sent to some citizens. The statement said, "The 2026 Yıldırım Series mobilization exercises will be conducted between September and October with the participation of a total of 7 thousand 686 reserve personnel. An information message has been sent to the personnel assigned to these exercises."
While the mobilization messages received on phones sparked discussions in a short time, a statement was issued by the Ministry of National Defense.

Regarding the posts claiming that mobilization orders were sent to some citizens, the MSB stated, "The 2026 Yıldırım Series mobilization exercises will be conducted between September and October with the participation of a total of 7 thousand 686 reserve personnel. An information message has been sent to the personnel assigned to these exercises."

In the statement made by the Ministry, it was said, "Posts are being made on social media claiming that mobilization orders have been sent to some of our citizens. Yıldırım Series Mobilization exercises are conducted routinely every year. The 2026 Yıldırım Series Mobilization exercises will be conducted between September and October with the participation of a total of 7 thousand 686 reserve personnel. On May 15, 2026, an information message was sent to the mobile phones registered in the system of the personnel assigned to these exercises."
