Statement from Naci Görür on the 'Kütahya earthquake'
A 4.3-magnitude earthquake occurred in Kütahya at 20:24. Some citizens are spending the night outdoors. Earth scientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür has released a statement regarding the earthquake.
According to information on the website of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), a 4.3-magnitude tremor was recorded with its epicenter in the Simav district of Kütahya.
Cracks have formed in the walls of some houses in Yemişli village, located 18 kilometers from the earthquake's epicenter in Simav.
"WE ARE IN GREAT FEAR"
Following the earthquake, citizens living in the village are spending the night outdoors.
Village headman İsmail Aydoğdu told Anadolu Agency (AA) that earthquakes have been continuing in the region for 3 days and that the 4.3-magnitude earthquake caused fear in the village.
Aydoğdu stated, "Due to the earthquake, cracks have formed in the walls of some houses in the village. We are in great fear."

Earth scientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür also stated on his social media account, "A 4.3 earthquake occurred in Karakoca-Simav/Kütahya. The earthquake took place on the Naşa normal fault zone just north of Simav. The faults here are relatively small. Get well soon, with love."
