Statement from Rakel Dink, wife of Hrant Dink, on Ogün Samast: 'They sent us back to the darkest days of our mourning'

Rakel Dink, the wife of Hrant Dink, has made statements regarding the release of her husband's murderer, Ogün Samast.

"THEY SENT US BACK TO THE DARKEST DAYS OF OUR MOURNING"

Speaking at the opening of the Minority Rights Conference in the 100th year of the Republic, Dink said, "Once again, they have thrown injustice in our faces and sent us back to the darkest days of our mourning."

Stating, "We have already been breathing the same air as the murderers for years," Rakel Dink added, "We already know that those who gave the order for Dink's death are walking among us. Do we not know that we are breathing the same air as the murderers of Sabahattin Ali, İlhan Erdost, Zeki Tekiner, Uğur Mumcu, and Musa Anter?"

"WE SAID IT IS INDISPENSABLE FOR DEMOCRATIZATION"

Dink also said the following:

"The issue has never been about this or that person receiving 3-5 years more or less in prison. From the very first day, we said that the darkness must be questioned. We said that justice being served in this case is indispensable for the democratization of the country."
