In a written statement regarding the cargo ship named "NINOVA" that ran aground, the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs announced that 8 sailors have been evacuated and that ship salvage operations will be planned based on weather conditions.
In the statement made by the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs, it was stated: "The 8 sailors on the general cargo ship NINOVA, which dragged its anchor from the Karasu anchorage area and ran aground, were evacuated from the shore by the General Directorate of Coastal Safety using a ropeway system, under the coordination of our Port Authority.
There is no environmental pollution or injuries.
Ship salvage operations will be planned based on weather conditions."
