The General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories (KYGM) has announced that the claim of a "murder at the GSB Sultan Fahriye Girls' Dormitory in Bayburt," which appeared in some media outlets, is not true.
The statement made on the KYGM's X account included the following expressions:
"The claim of a 'murder at the GSB Sultan Fahriye Girls' Dormitory in Bayburt' is not true.
A student residing in the dormitory harmed herself while she was alone in the prayer room.
It has been reported that the student, who was taken to the hospital, is in good condition following the examination.
It has emerged that the student later called her friend on the phone and explained her situation.
Following the misinterpretation of the incident by other students staying in the dormitory, a protest action was carried out against the dormitory administration.
The students dispersed after being provided with accurate information regarding the incident. A judicial investigation and inquiry have been initiated regarding the matter."
