Statement from the High Board of Religious Affairs regarding the start of Ramadan

The High Board of Religious Affairs of the Presidency of Religious Affairs has announced that, based on astronomical calculations made using religious criteria, the Ramadan crescent will first be visible tomorrow starting from the Pacific Ocean region, and that the moment of visibility is 06:42 Turkish time.

The following statement was made by the Board:

"As a result of astronomical calculations based on religious criteria, it has been determined that the crescent for the month of Ramadan in the year 1447 (2026) will become visible for the first time on Wednesday, February 18, starting from the Pacific Ocean region.

The moment of visibility for the crescent is 06:42 Turkish time.

Accordingly, Thursday, February 19, will be the first day of the month of Ramadan for the year 1447/2026."

The High Board of Religious Affairs of the Presidency of Religious Affairs has issued a statement regarding the start of the month of Ramadan in the year 1447 (2026).
