Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the attack on a Turkish-owned dry cargo ship in the Black Sea

In the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated: "It has been learned that 2 of our citizens, who were among the crew of the Turkish-owned, Panama-flagged ship that was attacked by an unmanned aerial vehicle off the coast of Ukraine's Chornomorsk Port this morning, were injured.

The condition of our citizens is being closely monitored by our Embassy in Kyiv and our Consulate General in Odessa.

Our concern regarding the attacks that threaten our interests in the Black Sea and regional security as a result of the escalation in the Russia-Ukraine war is being conveyed to the authorities of both countries.

Ensuring the navigation safety of civilian ships in the Black Sea is among our country's primary priorities, and we call on all relevant parties to take measures to reduce tension in the region."
