The statement noted, "The circular specifies that care should be taken to include only the Turkish flag in all events. The claim circulating on some social media accounts and news sites that 'the use of Atatürk photographs is prohibited' is a vile slander."

The statement made from the Ministry of Interior's social media account included the following:

"A circular dated June 25, 2025, was issued by the Ministry of Interior's General Directorate of Provincial Administration on the occasion of 'July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.'

The circular specifies that care should be taken to include only the Turkish flag in all events. The claim circulating on some social media accounts and news sites that 'the use of Atatürk photographs is prohibited' is a vile slander.

Every circular issued by our Ministry of Interior regarding July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day since 2018 has included the phrase 'care should be taken to include only the Turkish flag in all events.'

The purpose is to ensure that only the Turkish flag, and not political parties, is used in events organized on this commemoration day, which is a symbol of our nation's unity and solidarity."
