Statement from the TBMM General Secretariat regarding 'harassment of an intern'

In a statement issued by the TBMM General Secretariat, it was noted that the administrative investigation, which was launched on November 20 following a complaint by the family of an intern and announced to the public on December 10, has been completed, and that similar complaints from two other interns were identified during the investigation.

The TBMM General Secretariatin a statementissued, regarding the complaint by the family of an intern on November 20 which was launchedand announced to the public on December 10,itwas stated that the administrative investigation has been completed and that similar complaints from two other interns were identified during the investigation.

The statement said, "As the TBMM administrative organization, which immediately launched the investigation, followed the allegations with seriousness, and applied the necessary disciplinary penaltiesupon the determination of acts contrary to disciplinary law, we would like it to be known that we will continue to display the same determined stance against these and similarallegations of crimein coordination with our judicial authorities from now on."

The statement made by the TBMM General SecretariatThestatement noted, "Following a complaint by the family of an intern serving in our institution during the 2024-2025 academicterm, an administrative investigation was launched by our General Secretariat on November 20,2025, and the details were shared with the public via a pressreleaseon December 10, 2025. During the investigation, the incident in question was examined in depth, and it was determined that two other interns had similar complaints."has beenconcluded. It was determined that the personnel who attempted to establish intimacy with interns via socialmedia platforms and through messageshave been subject to the following regarding the allegations against them;

The allegations against them weresubstantiated.who was employed undera 4/Astatusas a contractworker, disciplinary action was initiated against one staff member in accordance with Article 125 of the Civil Servants Law No. 657 for 'conduct incompatible with the status of a civil servant'andengaging in disgraceful and shamefulacts' within the scope of'Dismissal from Civil Service', Dismissal, and for 4/Dpermanentworkerstatus, 2Aproposal has been made to terminate the employment contracts of the personnel in question and impose disciplinary penalties under the 'sexual harassment' provision of the Collective Labor Agreement. Furthermore, the allegations against them have been directly referred to the

relevant authorities at this stage.Although not proven, acts contrary to disciplinary provisionswere identified; regarding 1permanentworkerstaff member under the 4/Dstatus,thepersonnel in question, 'internal institutionengaging in behavior that would undermine the reputation and sense of trust in a public officialwithin the scope of the act of 'engaging in actions', according to the Collective Labor Agreement, the imposition of a disciplinary penaltywas issued, and for those in 4/A status, theemploymentwas terminated.asa staff member workingas a civil servant, in accordance with Article 125 of the Civil Servants Law No. 657, for 'acting in a manner that undermines the reputation and trust of a civil servant whilein service'proposals were made to impose disciplinary penalties for such actions.

Furthermore, regarding the matter, a copy of thedisciplinary report preparedhas also been shared with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The investigation, which was conductedmeticulously andcomprehensively,regarding the process, our political party groups were informed in accordance with the principle of transparency, andall kinds of information/documents were sharedopenly.it was stated that they were aware of the situation. Before the matter was reflected in the public eye, the investigationwas immediately launched, the allegations were followed up with seriousness, and upon the determination of acts contrary to disciplinary law, the necessary disciplinary penaltieswere applied. As the TBMM administrative organization, we would like it to be known that we will continue to display the same determined stance against these and similarallegations of crimein coordination with our judicial authorities from now on as well."
