Statement from Vesaire regarding articles by Fahrettin Altun's son: 'We received the author's approval'
A statement has been issued regarding the articles written by Ali Erdem Altun, the son of former Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, on the website Vesaire.
It was revealed that Ali Erdem Altun, the son of Altun, had been writing articles for the 'independent cultural platform' Vesaire. Following this, the platform announced that it had removed Altun's articles.
In the statement, it was noted that the institution became aware of Ali Erdem Altun's family ties "after the discussions that took place on Twitter."
The statement also noted that the website had been a direct target of the Directorate of Communications in the recent past.
"WE REMOVED THEM WITH HIS APPROVAL"
The following statements were included in the announcement made by Vesaire.org:
"We became aware of the family ties of the author of several pieces recently published on our website through discussions on Twitter, and we felt the need to make a statement after the author himself confirmed the information we obtained.
Our independent publishing line, which we have maintained for 11 years, is known to almost everyone. Every week, we receive dozens of article suggestions from our readers that add value. If the articles are in line with our editorial policy, they are published and shared without questioning the author's identity or family connections.

We decided that it was not appropriate for all the articles by the author in question to remain on our website, which has been a direct target of the Directorate of Communications in the recent past, and that it could lead to justified doubts and concerns among our readers; therefore, we removed them with the author's approval.
We thank our readers for this sensitivity, which allowed us to become aware of the discussions."
Access to the platform's X account and website had been blocked by a BTK decision on March 23, 2025.
