Statement on 'arrest warrant' from Tanju Özcan's account: What goes around comes around...
A post was made on the social media account of Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan regarding the arrest warrant issued against him.
The Bolu Criminal Court of Peace has issued an arrest warrant for Tanju Özcan and Süleyman Can on charges of "extortion."
Following the development, while reactions to the decision came from CHP figures, a post was also shared on Özcan's social media account.
The following statement was made via Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan's social media account following the arrest warrant issued against him:
"Trying to find resources for students in need is apparently a crime punishable by heavy imprisonment.
We learned that we were arrested on social media 20 minutes before the criminal judge of peace announced the decision.
This is the point justice has reached in Turkey.
If anyone thinks I will be afraid, do not even dream of it.
Let those who are happy burn henna. What goes around comes around, one day the tables will turn."
