Statement on 'curriculum change' from Minister of National Education Tekin
Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin stated that they are planning "an education system that belongs to us, is built with our values, and is created in the light of our reference values."
Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin met with teachers at a program held in Ankara as part of the 'Teachers' Room Meetings'. Stating that they will soon announce the curriculum change, which is an important project of the ministry, to the public, Tekin said the following:
"The curriculum should be a living and dynamic structure that is constantly updated, taking into account rapidly changing world conditions and current developments. From its main paradigm to the construction of an education system that belongs to us, is built with our values, and is created in the light of our reference values, we have completed our necessary work and, God willing, we will share it with the public soon."
However, Tekin did not specify when the change would come into effect, nor did he explain what he meant by the phrase "our reference values." He also did not disclose what was taken as a reference in the new curriculum change or who was worked with.
