The article stipulating that a woman could not use her maiden name alone after marriage has been removed from the judicial package. Accordingly, a woman will be able to use her maiden name alone after marriage.
CHP Deputy Chair Aylin Nazlıaka stated, "We have received the news regarding the removal of the surname regulation from the 9th Judicial Package. According to the information we received this morning, a new evaluation will be conducted within the Ministry regarding the surname imposition."
