At the Santa Maria Church in Sarıyer, on January 28, during Sunday mass, two masked suspects opened fire on those praying. 52-year-old Tuncer Cihan, who was hit by the bullets, lost his life at the hospital where he was taken. In the operations carried out regarding the incident, 60 suspects, including A.K., a Tajik national, and D.T., a Russian national, who carried out the attack, were detained. Furthermore, 26 suspects were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for deportation.

THEY EXERCISED THEIR RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT

The 34 suspects, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan. While it was stated that the prosecution's procedures for the suspects have begun there, it was learned that 18 public prosecutors have been assigned to these procedures. On the other hand, it was learned that the suspects exercised their right to remain silent while in police custody.
