Statements of the man who took his wife's life in Muğla revealed: 'I killed her because she hurt my honor'

In an incident that occurred on the morning of November 1 in the Marmaris district of Muğla, 50-year-old Yasemin Yorulmaz, who was in the process of getting a divorce, was killed by her husband, 44-year-old Tuncay Yorulmaz.

The incident took place at the home the couple shared on Orgeneral Mustafa Muğlalı Street in Marmaris, where Tuncay Yorulmaz, who works in the tourism sector, killed his wife, Yasemin Yorulmaz, with whom he had been in the process of divorcing for some time.

PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE STATEMENT REVEALED

The statement given to the prosecutor's office by Tuncay Yorulmaz, who was caught and taken into custody following the incident, has been revealed. Yorulmaz stated that he went to the police station to turn himself in after committing the murder. In his statement, Tuncay Yorulmaz claimed that Yasemin Yorulmaz had humiliated him with dishonorable words and that he committed the murder in a moment of anger.

In his statement to the prosecutor's office, Tuncay Yorulmaz claimed his wife said things to him like, "Were you the only one in my life? Who do you think you are? Are you even a man?" and said, "Upon these words, I grabbed a bottle standing on the edge of the bed and hit Yasemin on the head. After hitting her two or three more times, I noticed a knife on the dresser and stabbed Yasemin in the back once. After dropping the knife, I left the house, went to the police station, and turned myself in."

Continuing his statement, Tuncay Yorulmaz noted that he did not call 112 Emergency Services and that he committed the murder on the grounds that she had "hurt his honor," leaving the scene to go directly to the police station to turn himself in.

After his processing at the police station, Tuncay Yorulmaz was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the court and sent to prison. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
