Strict inspections on illegal Russian and Ukrainian schools in Antalya

In the Konyaaltı district of Antalya, investigations launched by the Provincial Directorate of National Education into two illegal schools opened following the intense migration from Russia and Ukraine have concluded. While one of the identified schools was closed, the other continues its operations following a court decision.

Initial investigations by the Provincial Directorate of National Education revealed that these schools, which advertised under the name 'Russian School' on social media accounts and websites, did not possess any official registration or permit documents. In this context, one school operating illegally under the guise of a Turkish course center was closed and subjected to an administrative fine.

CLOSURE DECISION FOR THE SECOND ILLEGAL SCHOOL

The second illegal school in the Konyaaltı district received a closure order on the grounds that it was conducting unauthorized educational activities under the name 'Covorking Kids Katyusha Children's Play and Activity Development Center.' A statement from the Provincial Directorate of National Education indicated that an administrative fine of twenty times the gross minimum wage (400,040 TL) was imposed on the school and that the closure of the institution was deemed appropriate.

STAY OF EXECUTION DECISION

Upon an application made by the school administration against the closure and fine decision, the Antalya 4th Administrative Court issued a stay of execution regarding the institution's closure process. The Provincial Directorate of National Education has filed an objection to the court's decision.

NEW INVESTIGATIONS UNDERWAY

On the other hand, a new investigation has been launched regarding three illegal kindergartens and nurseries brought to the agenda by Kenan Çelik from the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Education Activities Professional Committee.

In the investigation initiated by the District Monitoring and Coordination Commission under the Antalya Governor's Office, it was announced that if the allegations are verified, legal action will be taken within the scope of Law No. 5580 and the Misdemeanors Law No. 5326.
